" I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys."
~Charles Dickens

This year you are going to read two novels adapted to your English level. To start with, I give you the chance to choose between two love stories, one is a reader designed for 2nd language learners and the other is a reader based on a very famous novel by Thomas Hardy, a XIX th century British writer.
The second reader is also written for L2 learners and it is a diary based on the reflections, thoughts and experiences of a teenager, Adrina Mole.
